The deep grooves in the soles prevent slipping on most surfaces - the upper boot is cemented onto the sole  rather than stitched so quaranteeing the boots will keep your feet dry at all times. The boot lining is so soft and comfortable it is not even necesssary to wear a sock! and the insulation such that you should never have cold feet again.
